Jason is Head of Music 2iC at a thriving secondary school with music specialism school in London, with a team of thirty five music staff.

Jason holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Music with Specialist Instrumental Teaching and National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching and experienced teaching both children and adults and has students ranging from beginner to advanced level.

Jason formerly taught at the Aura Music Academy, and also at Dartford Grammar School where he has also accompanied students for ABRSM exams and tutored in music theory and aural skills. He accompanies students for recitals at the University of Manchester and beyond, and competitions at RNCM and Rochester & North Kent Music Festival. Jason has also had experience in conducting and directing school ensembles and choirs.

Jason holds an enhanced DBS check and is a Member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

Jason’s teaching is methodical, and both practical and theory based. His pupils have described him as an enjoyable and patient teacher, and he carefully scaffolds the lessons according to one’s needs. For younger students who have a shorter attention span, he works to make exceptional progress whilst having fun. The key principles of playing, such as posture and technique, are strongly rooted in his teaching as someone who has received Alexander Technique training. This includes simple exercises which removes unnecessary tension from the body and bad habits.
