The Camerata Players: Elgar: Nimrod from Enigma Variations

Live Premiere

This performance of Elgar’s Nimrod from the Enigma Variations features The Camerata Players, a dynamic ensemble comprised of students and graduates of the University of Manchester and Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). Conducted by founder and artistic director Jason Taing, the ensemble poignantly performs, sending warm wishes of safety and good health to all.

This evening’s performance takes place thanks to our fantastic orchestra, as well as Chen Bo Calvin Zhang for photography, Ricky Taing for the poster design and Dimitri Arnauts for the video editing.

The Camerata Players: Grieg, Nolan, Dvořák 7

Holy Name Church, Manchester – 7:30PM

The Camerata Players make a return in their opening concert of 2020 to play Dvorak’s Seventh Symphony in D minor, arguably his finest symphony. The concert also features the world premiere of Dan Nolan’s ‘Duplicity’ for Bassoon, Vibraphone and Orchestra: ‘the work explores the archaic definition of the word – the state of being double. Both soloists begin as a single unit slowly breaking apart to become unique voices.’ The concert opens with Grieg’s lyrical Peer Gynt Suite No. 1.

Grieg Peer Gynt Suite No. 1; Dan Nolan Duplicity – for Bassoon, Vibraphone and Orchestra (world premiere); Dvořák Symphony No. 7 in D Minor

Jason Taing conductor

Lauren Martin and Dan Nolan soloists
